Your Questions, Answered.

How do Chiropractic Adjustments work?

Chiropractic adjustments involve applying precise corrections to specific areas of the spine to restore proper joint motion and improve nervous system function. Chiropractic adjustments relieve pain, restore mobility, and support the body’s natural healing process.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is widely recognized as one of the safest, non-invasive treatments available for musculoskeletal conditions. Chiropractors are highly trained, licensed healthcare professionals who undergo rigorous education and clinical training to perform precise, gentle adjustments. The goal of chiropractic is to naturally relieve pain and improve function without the risks associated with medication or surgery. Some patients may notice a mild, temporary soreness, similar to the feeling after a new workout or deep-tissue massage.

What is the ‘popping’ sound during an adjustment?

The sound is simply gas being released from the joint. This occurs when there is a pressure change in the joint during an adjustment, it is normal and painless and signals the joint is moving better.

Will a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

The majority of patients experience little to no discomfort at all with their first adjustment. It’s common for some people to feel a mild muscle soreness in the hours following their adjustment, similar to the soreness after working out or having a deep-tissue massage, as your body begins to realign.

Are all adjustments done using manual (hands-on) techniques?

No. Our doctors are highly skilled in many different adjusting approaches. If you prefer a lighter touch, we can use specific instrument or low-force techniques to achieve the same results for your spine and nervous system.

What should I wear for my chiropractic appointments?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes. However, we understand you may be coming directly from work, the gym, or another appointment. We will work with you to ensure you can comfortably receive the adjustment that you need in whatever attire you arrive in.
