Shockwave Therapy in Colchester, VT

Achieve Rapid Healing with Shockwave Therapy designed to break down scar tissue, resolve chronic joint pain, and restore long-term function.

Non-Surgical, Deep Healing

Shockwave Therapy is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses targeted, high-energy sound waves to quickly treat painful chronic conditions.

Shockwave therapy works by delivering sound waves directly to the injured area, breaking down scar tissue and calcifications (like in tendonitis or heel spurs). This process jump-starts your body’s natural healing response, enhances circulation, stimulates tissue regeneration, and reduces chronic pain.

At Mahoney Chiropractic Group, we use Shockwave Therapy as part of our comprehensive approach to care, to accelerate your body’s ability to heal itself, helping you regain mobility and get back to your life faster.

FAQs

How long is a session of shockwave therapy?

A typical session of Shockwave therapy lasts 5-10 minutes, depending on the area of your body we are treating.

Does Shockwave Therapy hurt?

No. Most patients describe the sensation as a “deep, vibration.” While it can be slightly uncomfortable if we are treating an inflamed area- it should not be painful. We adjust the intensity of the treatment to your comfort.

Are there any side effects or risks?

Side effects are mild and temporary. Because Shockwave Therapy stimulates a healing response, you may experience temporary redness and a dull ache similar to the feeling after going to the gym or a deep tissue massage.

What conditions can it treat?

Shockwave is highly effective at treating chronic musculoskeletal issues where the healing process has stalled. We use shockwave in our office to treat:

  • Feet & Ankles: Plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis.
  • Elbows: Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and Golfer’s elbow (Medial epicondylitis)
  • Shoulders: Calcific tendinitis and chronic rotator cuff issues.
  • Knees: Jumper’s knee (patellar tendinopathy) and shin splints.
  • Muscle & Back: Chronic trigger points, muscle knots, and low back pain
